ANSUT

ANSUT represents the interests of teachers, librarians, and researchers in most Nova Scotia universities, and advocates for quality and accessibility in post-secondary education in the province. The Association’s activities are largely concerned with lobbying all levels of government to ensure the recruitment and retention of high quality tenure-stream and tenured faculty, librarians and technical support staff involved in teaching, research, and community service. Toward that objective, ANSUT organizes specialized workshops on various aspects of working conditions and academic integrity, and also demands a funding policy that ensures Nova Scotia universities increase their competitiveness regionally, nationally, and internationally. It supports all member associations in defending all of their collective agreement rights. ANSUT also sponsors research on issues related to post-secondary education and has the responsibility to disseminate to its membership all information pertinent to these questions.
