Tentative Agreement Reached Acadia University
(27 November 2017—Wolfville, NS) The Acadia University Faculty Association (AUFA) and the Acadia Board of Governors reached a tentative agreement in the early hours of Monday morning. The Faculty Association announced that the strike had been called off. Classes at Acadia continued as scheduled.
“Since March, AUFA has been ready to find creative compromises in order to reach a tentative agreement,” said AUFA President Stephen Ahern. “We are relieved that the board was finally ready to do the same. We are very pleased that a tentative deal has been reached.”
A ratification vote on the new collective agreement will be scheduled after the details of the tentative agreement has been circulated to the AUFA membership.
AUFA is the certified bargaining agent for 331 full-time and part-time professors, librarians, archivists, instructors, and the Art Gallery curator.
