Leaves of Absence

The Employee shall normally submit their application to the Dean, with a copy to the Head, by 1 September of the year preceding that for which leave is being sought. The Dean, after consultation with the Head and Academic Unit, shall recommend to the Provost with written reasons whether or not the leave should be granted. Provost may ask the Dean to reconsider their recommendation and give reasons for such request. The Provost shall then make a recommendation to the President. Following this reconsideration, the Employee shall be notified of the President’s decision by 1 December and shall accept or reject any offer by 31 December. (Art. 24.71)
